Mitochondria - Mia Carlson

Main Ideas:

  • Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
  • It produces 90% of energy for the cell
  • It takes sugars, fats, and proteins, and converts them into nutrients the cell can use for energy
  • Mitochondria are found in every cell
  • They require oxygen to function

Reflection:

• I learned that Mitochondria provide most of the energy for every cell, by breaking down sugars, fats, and proteins and converting them into nutrients.
